I believe the most important need for young children is providing quality and consistency of care, while giving them the confidence to explore their world through play. I feel that my job as an early childhood educator is to provide children with a safe and secure environment so that they can develop the tools and confidence to be lifelong learners. I believe that modelling appropriate behaviour and actions is the cornerstone to giving children the ability, confidence, and independence they will need to enjoy running their own lives.

I believe that each child is an individual, and as an educator, I believe it is my role to value each child and nurture the development of their own unique personality. I believe children learn through play and that the environment plays a major role in the success of every child's development.

As an early childhood educator, I experience great pride and enjoyment from teaching new and interesting age-appropriate skills and knowledge to the children under my care. I believe that all children under my care need to feel comfortable, secure, and emotionally content. Children's imaginations are a primary means of learning through play, and a child requires a free and open mind to exploit the adventures of learning that lie before them.

I believe in nurturing young thinkers to voice their thoughts and encourage them to use their individual learning styles so, they are able to create according to their individual disposition. I believe in being a life-long learner and consider myself a co-learner with the children. I believe in nurturing holistic development, adaptive learning environments, flexibility, and authenticity. I believe in being a co-researcher and helping the children to reach their maximum potential.

I believe that children learn best through play, such as physical play, play with objects, loose parts, symbolic play, or socio-dramatic play. Play is an instrument for the development of senses, the exercise of judgement through sensory experiences and contact with things. When children are playing, they learn about their intellectual level, physical abilities, their behaviors, and their socio-emotional interactions. While playing, they show what they know, understand, and what they can realize. Play is a connector between social development and development of a whole child. It improves communication, social problem solving, turn taking, and negotiation skills. Play makes learning something that happens naturally and joyfully, and when children laugh and wonder, explore and imagine, they learn to process and to construct meaning about the world around them, creating their knowledge and learning.

I am passionate about cooking for the children because they inspire me. Cooking helps me to form close relationships with the children and their families, and those relationships motivate me to create new and exciting meals for the children to enjoy. I feel fortunate that I am able to provide nourishment to the children that provides them with energy and nourishment to grow and learn all day.

As an early childhood educator, I believe in providing each child with the opportunity to learn at their own pace and in the manner that best suits them. I believe that providing a safe, nurturing and fun atmosphere is a major responsibility of an early childhood educator.  I strongly believe in inclusivity, and I strive to help each child reach their full potential.

As an early childhood educator, I help to guide children so that they can become the best versions of themselves as they grow and mature. In a child’s early years, they need to be able to rely on consistency of care and form bonds of trust with educators, and families depend on us to be positive role models for their children. I have a passion for working with children and I want to be able to nurture their development as much as possible to help them become capable citizens of their community.

I believe that each child is their own individual and as educators it is our job to foster their growth. Children deserve a space that allows for exploration where they can play how they please. As educators it is our role to provide appropriate time, space, materials, and participation, to give the children in our care the best possible experiences. Providing outside time for children to explore natural elements around them gives them an opportunity to feel a part of a larger community. Including all families in the program creates a space for children to build the bridge between their households and the centre to feel safe and confident in each space.

I believe that each child is beautifully unique and capable.  As an early childhood educator, I believe that building positive relationships with children to foster trust allows for children to joyfully engage in exploration and play, which leads to lifelong learning. My desire is to inspire a love of learning through experience by relationally engaging with children in a safe, creative, and inclusive environment. I strive to make every child feel empowered and loved through the interactions I have with them.
