Providing safe transportation to and from Prince of Wales, Deer Run and Sam Livingston French Immersion Elementary School. This school age program lets children unwind from the structure of school and learn through being outdoors, art, games, and play. The children are an integral part of the program as the educators love to program with the children and create environments and activities based around their interests.
Learning through play is supported outside, using natural, open ended materials that lets the children decide how to play rather than being used for a single purpose. The children have 2 hours of outside play each day -once in the morning and again in the afternoon. This group often utilizes nearby playgrounds, Fish Creek Park and community association amenities as part of their program.
With a tire mountain to jump from, a bike path to race on, a giant sandbox for digging and pouring this yard allows for creative ways to burn energy and develop their coordination. Added are gardens the children plant in the spring and harvest in the fall to feed our pets and include in our kitchen which shows children where food comes from and the process it takes to grow. Outside play is a favourite time of day to let loose and have fun.
